The Alternative Ascot Day Lunch 2008

The fully subscribed 2008 Alternative Ascot Day lunch was just as successful and enjoyable as last year's.  Held at the marvellous location of Monk Fryston Hall Hotel, £850 was raised through fun betting, raffle, silent auction and donations.  This will go to South Milford branch of Action Medical Research.  http://www.action.org.uk/

Set in this beautiful location, the Ladies' Day lunch was a perfect opportunity to catch up with friends and leave everyday life behind for just a few hours of decadence!  Pimms reception, three course lunch, coffee and afternoon tea was enjoyed by over 70 very glamourously dressed ladies.  Live coverage from Ascot was shown on two televisions which included the Queen's Parade and after admiring all the fashion the exciting races were watched from this prestigious meet. 

Hats from Get Ahead Hats at Whitley were on display and available to hire and a bottle of Champagne donated by Monk Fryston Store and Post Office was presented to the lady with the best hat!

The popularity of this event is extending and already 2009's venue has been booked.  The apt location of The Ebor Suite at York Racecourse has been chosen and tables have already been booked.  The date and programme have yet to be confirmed by Ascot but as in previous years Thursday 18th June 2009 is the date to watch.
